So are you the person to yell at for the game not having any Chaos Marines?

Hopefully they still have the beta-feedback section. If you want more specific critique, then go to the official forums. meaning it has the potential to impress me. This is, by no means, a console-like game, however. I feel that if developers were allowed to do what they really wanted with their games, then we wouldn't have all these half-finished, dumbed-down games. No complaints about the lack of base building or the style of the game. My impression is that the game is probably a good platform, but as it is.

I'm sure the 40k players would love a simulator as well, but perhaps that'll make it in as a mod later. Something to equate the battle to the original game. VP and annihilation? That's it? What about a Point-for-Point match system (1500pt army vs 1500pt army). The gameplay modes leave much to be desired as well. For one thing there are too few different types of units, and the game seems to lack a listing of comprehensive stats for these units and associated upgrades. I suppose I wanted something more resembling the tabletop game in terms of complexity and customization (and strategy). I enjoy designing an army in 40k, but DOW2 doesn't allow the player to obsess over the details nearly as much. I hope they provided more than 2 additional maps in retail. I'm undecided as to whether or not I'm interested.

They've done a lot of re-balancing, and from what I've seen the changes upon release should improve a few things.
